A hundred and forty dollars. For leggings. Again. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law behind Ferro FORME on why they stopped paying the logo tax — and built something better.

By Tracy Ferro & Nicole Smith

There's a moment every woman who loves fitness has experienced. You're standing in a dressing room, or scrolling through yet another activewear site, and you do the mental math. A hundred and forty dollars. For leggings. Again.

And the worst part? You pay it. Because the alternative is something that pills after three washes, gaps at the waistband, or goes sheer the second you bend over.

That was us. For years.

Two Women, One Conversation

Tracy has spent her career in the health and wellness world — as President of Sunfare, one of Los Angeles' original chef-prepared meal delivery services, she has built a life around the belief that how you nourish your body matters. Nicole grew up immersed in fashion and fitness, the kind of woman who can spot quality construction at twenty paces and won't settle for less.

Together — mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, wellness veteran and fashion-forward entrepreneur — we kept having the same conversation. Why does elevated activewear have to cost this much? Why are we paying for a logo instead of the garment? Why can't something be genuinely well-made and genuinely accessible?

Nobody had a good answer. So we stopped waiting for one.

What We Built

We launched Ferro FORME with one clear conviction: the woman who trains hard and lives fully deserves activewear that meets her where she is — without the markup, without the gatekeeping, without the brand name doing all the heavy lifting.

Every piece we design is conceived and developed right here in Los Angeles. We work hands-on with our production partners, obsess over fabric quality, and price our pieces for the woman who knows what things are worth — not what she can be convinced to pay.

The Name

The name says it all. Ferro — our family name, our stake in the ground. Forme — the French word for form, shape, the best version of yourself.

This brand is personal. It always will be.
